3 Major Components for Building the Foundation for the Best You!

Daily practices to start incorporating into your lifestyle Immediately!
1. FITNESS!
There is not a single day that you are worse off by being stronger!
Fitness is one of the three basic keys to the foundation of a happy healthy lifestyle. There are two important factors in deciding what fitness routine is right for you and that you will maintain everyday.
The first, DO WHAT YOU LOVE! Getting fit does not need to be a chore, it should be a hobby! There are hundreds of different forms of exercise to choose from. Surely there is one that caters to what you love. Stop worrying about what you are "supposed" to do (going to the gym 3-5 times a week, run 3 miles a day, do a bajillion push ups etc.) and start focusing on what you WANT to do! If you want to dance and will do it 3-5 times a week, skip the gym membership and DO IT! The key is to enjoy what you do and choose something that will keep you coming back.
The second is creating a community of people with the same fitness interests as you! Even if what you love cost $10-$30/class or session, if you are in a community of people you enjoy, you will save money! How? because this will double as a social activity for you as well! Consider your fitness routine the same thing as mimosas with the girls, or a watching the game with the guys. (Additionally, you will be cutting those completely useless calories a la alcohol or fried buffalo wings in chunky blue cheese dressing!)

Fitness is key to Breaking Up without Breaking Down!
by Meghan Jaynes on 01/08/13
Ok, so there is a time and a place post-breakup for super-sad outfits, Ben and Jerry's, and rolling your eyes at every happy couple in the universe... Then there's the time to get past it.

How to deal with a Break up without Breaking down:
READ THIS:
If you're having trouble letting go try reading, "It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken." by our break-up BFF Greg Behrendt to get moving on.
NOT THAT:
Old text message convos, valentines day cards, or emails. Especially after a couple cocktails or at your pity-party a la duvet cave!
WEAR THIS:
Put the "UP" back into Breakup! Take off the PJ's and step into an equally comfy pair of running tights or bum flattering yoga pants and one of those schmancy built in push-up work out tops. (They really do wonders, ladies. I own 4 of them!)
NOT THAT:
Do NOT slip on the fleece fat-pants or your ex's over sized hoody. This is an unfortunate circumstance. No need to accompany it with an unfortunate outfit!
EAT THIS:
Despite popular belief (especially among women) carbs are not the devil. For an instant mood booster try a high carb/low fat/low protein snack such as whole wheat toast or English muffin topped with jam or honey! When high-carbohydrate foods aren't smothered in protein or fat, they allow an amino acid, tryptophan to flood your brain, where it then turns into serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that boosts your mood! And all of this happens in just half an hour!
NOT THAT:
Skip the Chocolate, milkshakes, burgers or alcohol. Yes, You do deserve a little self indulgence, but maybe just stick to the bubble bath (with Epsom salt and lavender? maybe a few candles?) and a chick flick.
DO THIS:
Now that you are starting over, it's time to try something new and exciting!
Using FitMapped (http://fitmapped.com) you can find your perfect class! Exercise is proven to release endorphins. Endorphins trigger a positive "euphoric" feeling and put an energizing spin on your outlook on life. Additionally, creating a community of positive people and some accountability to show up will do wonders for opening those puffy eyes to see the bright side.
NOT THAT:
Lay on your couch, on your best friends couch, or on your desk. Ok, just don't lay down anywhere or anytime that is not your bed when it's not bedtime. Productivity is your best friend right now!
ALSO
DANGER, KEEP OUT: Facebook. There are two major risks you will avoid by taking a FB hiatus,
1. Posting really pathetically coded messages to or about your Ex.
2. Facebook Stalking. No FB stalking ladies. I REPEAT: "NO FACEBOOK STALKING!!" Focus on YOU! Personal progress and improvement is a guaranteed cure for post-break up blues.
Try these simple alternatives and you'll be considering sending him a thank you note for leaving! (Only in the case that you ever want to speak to him again :D)
